I did art at school but didn't have the confidence to follow it through to a profession. Several years ago I had this over whelming urge to start drawing again.
I did many pictures in watercolour for my children when they were young then progressed to coloured pencils.

I work closely with my clients to get the best pose and photo to work from.
I aim to give my clients memories to cherish of their beloved pets.
I work from sharp, detailed digital photos supplied by my clients. The photos need to be in good lighting, preferably outdoors to show the correct colouring and if possible taken at the same level as the pet. I recommend taking lots of photos to give a choice as to which pose will work best.

I mainly do head and shoulders as I feel this is where the character can be portrayed and it enables me to show more detail.
I use pastel pencils, pastel sticks and pan pastels on pastelmat paper. As I do not use fixative, as it can change the colours.
I like to give the portrait to my client finished and framed with a frame of their choice, which I can source for them.
I do not charge for framing but the cost of the frame and mount is extra and will vary depending on the choice.
